This device cuts profiles into laminated panel core material while the panel is moving down the production line. The current system is servo controlled and is set up to +- 0.1mm, as +-0.5 is all that is required in this application. the control system is mainly Omron based, and is batch controlled. Omron Smart step servos take care of the motion and work together with a CJ1M CPU23 PLC.
the largest challenge was developing a cost effective method of finding the cut in the panel skin, or wire entry which could accommodate for the different skin colors, textures and material types.
Working with our client and suppliers, such a method was realized.
the result s a system that has minimal maintenance, low initial investment and 100% success rate on any surface type.
We configured and commissioned this line for an OEM client earlier this year.
So far we have Commissioned 3 cold wire systems, with more to come.
